How would you describe your job to a 10 year old?
My job is about ensuring economic production of oil and gas from offshore fields which is used to power the economy providing heating and electricity in homes and fuel for transport

What part of your job do you find most interesting?
Delivering results through people and aiming to solve problems.

What part of your job do you least enjoy?
Continuous high activity levels associated with Operations

What inspired you to choose your career?
I have always been curious by nature and highly motivated to find solutions to problems! My dad was a talented civil engineer and he was my main inspiration as he used his skills to design and build safe bridges and roads to enable  secure transportation and development of society.

What or who has had the greatest influence on your career progression?
My dad inspired me to become an engineer (I am a computer engineer by first degree and petroleum engineer by 2nd degree). I have also had great managers who have had huge influence on my career progression – they constantly challenged me to always reach beyond my comfort zone. My husband is also a great influencer as he encourages and supports my career and ambition.

Name one practical thing we could do in the O&G industry to shift the dial on equality?
Encourage females in schools to do STEM related courses through outreach programmes and targeted mentorship. Encourage recruiters to be more deliberate and on the  look out for diversity when they hire to ensure diversity in teams/companies.

What is the last song you listened to?

If there was a parallel universe with another version of ourselves, what job would you do there?
Aerospace Engineering

If you could solve one problem, what would it be and how would you solve it?
Lack of electricity in my home country Nigeria . Develop the power generation industry by building infrastructure capable of generating enough power to ensure constant electricity supply to the over 200 million inhabitants of Nigeria.

Tell us something about yourself that may surprise everyone?
I love thrill rides as I am an adrenaline junkie! I am also a gunner (Arsenal fan)
