How would you describe your job to a 10-year-old? A large transformational change programme in data and digitalisation. Our aim is to create a common and standard platform and processes thereby improving how we get more meaningful information out of our data and help take better decisions.

What part of your job do you find most interesting? How to bring about change (fast) in a big organisation and industry which is used to working in a particular way (slowly) for decades.

What part of your job do you least enjoy? Trying to work across different time zones while trying to maintain a decent work-life balance.

What inspired you to choose your career? To study our Earth. Move around the world, meet, and interact with different people and cultures.

What or who has had the greatest influence on your career progression? Not a single entity but several individuals at different stages of my career. The only constant has been my self-reflections to better understand blind spots, comfort zones and aspirations and then to act on them.

Name one practical thing we could do in the offshore energy industry to shift the dial on equality. Identify and fix root causes of inequality and potential discrimination and demonstrate how better diversity, equity and inclusiveness equates to a better performing team.

What is the last song you listened to? (Be honest!) “Bridge over troubled waters”

If there was a parallel universe with another version of ourselves, what job would you do there? A Teacher perhaps….

If you could solve one problem, what would it be and how would you solve it? Reduce polarised opinions in people on all issues around us by learning to be better listeners than talkers.

Tell us something about yourself that may surprise everyone? I (still) wake up at 4am to watch cricket matches telecasted live from another part of the globe.
